ABOUT PROTOCALL COMMUNICATIONS

Professional Energy Advisors

Protocall got our roots beginning in 1998 in the telephone answering business. We acquired thousands of customers (and earned many awards) that helped us build the stellar service and culture we’re known for today. We now exclusively serve the energy industry.

Over the years, we transformed our sales team to support the bustling energy business serving both residential and commercial customers. We’re committed to delivering “best in class” customer service that we find is missing in other organizations.

We grew, with support from the leading retail energy supplier in the United States, and throughout our history, we’ve helped more than 300,000 residential customers and more than 40,000 businesses protect their energy rates.

We operate in all deregulated electricity and natural gas markets and now offer a variety of solutions from a choice of energy suppliers that meets the needs of customers of all sizes.

OUR VALUES

Protocall has been built on trust, an ethical and honest approach to customers and overall professionalism. We value our customers, energy advisors and partners as well as all our employees and believe that together we provide the best products and support in the industry.

OUR PEOPLE

Our business has grown because of our great team and their desire to exceed the needs of our customers every day. It is imperative that all of our employees and energy advisors represent Protocall in the most professional way through every customer interaction.

Our Leadership Team

Scott Kleinknecht

Chief Executive Officer

Protocall originally started back in 1983 as an answering service. Using his skills in creating business opportunities from his past experience in investment banking, Scott founded the company with his wife Ellen to give great people an engaging place to work. He’s most passionate about employing exceptional people and watching them become successful. His other hobbies include long distance bike riding, golf, pickleball, and paddleboarding.

Ellen Kleinknecht

Chief Financial Officer

It all started 30 years ago when Ellen and her husband Scott founded Protocall. An MBA graduate from GWU, Ellen loves the challenge of being CFO of a company that protects so many businesses and consumers from inflated energy prices. When she’s not collaborating with her team, she’s playing pickle ball, paddling with her dragonboat team, gardening, or reading.

Deborah Liebel

President

Deb has been on a mission for the last 21 years to protect business and consumer energy costs, but she’s been building and growing organizations for longer than that. As part owner and president, she’s always on the hunt to improve herself professionally through certified trainings and national seminars. She enjoys providing those same opportunities for development to her employees and loves watching her team exceed and grow professionally. If she’s not protecting business and consumer energy costs, she’s probably playing with her seven loveable grandchildren.

Washington Jones

Senior Sales & Operations Director

Washington has been building relations with Protocall clients for the past 20 years. With his B.S. in Communications from Towson State University and his training from the John Maxwell Certified Training course, he’s more than ready to tackle all his clients’ needs. He loves working alongside his high-performing team and getting the chance to reinvent himself. In his free time he’s either with his family or out on the green playing golf.

Joseph Pizzini

Director of Residential Sales

Joseph has been with Protocall for the last five years, but he’s been leading successful sales teams for over a decade. He’s completed the John Maxwell leadership training and enjoys the family atmosphere at Protocall that’s open to new ideas and innovation. When he’s not wearing the cap of Director of Residential Sales, he’s riding his motorcycle.

Melissa Robinson

Sr. Business Analyst

Melissa has called Protocall home for the past 23 years. She may have started as a nighttime receptionist, but she soon developed a knack for the business and started training with the IT department before working with Payroll and HR as TBD. A self-taught Master of Excel, Melissa says Protocall feels like an extension of her family, and when she’s not with her work fam, she’s spending time with her (actual) family.

Steve Atkins

Senior Systems Administrator

Once a childhood enthusiasm for computers, Steve’s interest in learning all things computer related has turned into a meaningful career with Protocall as Senior Systems Administrator. Since joining the company in 2000, he’s received A+, Security+, and Network+ Certifications. In addition to computers, he loves flying drones, sports, spending time with his family, and cooking.

Ashley Spears

Manager of Administration

Ashley joined Protocall right after graduating from high school at the top of her class. It’s been 15 years since she first stepped foot through the doors and has risen through the ranks to become the Manager of Sales Administration with a team of her own. She’s had the pleasure of visiting many of Protocall’s offices along the east coast to train admins. When she’s not helping clients protect their energy costs, she’s with her family and kids or whipping up tasty treats for her baking business.
